His father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was a freedom fighter, while his mother, Lateef Fatima, worked as a magistrate. Because of this disciplined environment, he learned the importance of education and hard work at a young age.
He studied at St. Columba’s School, where he was good at both academics and sports. Later, he completed his degree in Economics from Hansraj College. After that, he joined Jamia Millia Islamia to study Mass Communication; however, he left the course midway to follow his passion for acting.

At first, Shah Rukh Khan began his journey with television. He appeared in the TV series Fauji (1989), where he played Lt. Abhimanyu Rai. Soon after, he was seen in Circus (1989), which made him popular across India.
